What is Content Management System (CMS)?

A Content Management System, short for CMS, is a software that makes it easier for contents to be created, modified, organized and published. It allows the creation and revision of contents to be a lot easier. Content Management System is often abbreviated as CMS.

The typical features of a Content Management System are: ability to create, revise/modify, organize and publish contents.

Joomla can be used to create almost any kind of website, because it facilitates the creation, revision, organization and publication of contents – the defining of CMS.

Before the creation of Joomla, small businesses had to depend on static HTML to build their websites because the cost was fairly unfavourable to them. Now, small businesses can easily setup dynamic websites using Joomla with a very little budget – because Joomla is a Content Management System.
